Here at Hometown we feel that it is benfecial to our customers that you are aware of our rental policies. Below are some of the questions most commonly asked.

  • Why rent your equipment from Hometown?
  • Hometown Equipment is dedicated to providing late model, quality equipment rentals at the best rates coupled with excellent customer service and support to resolve quickly and completely any issues you may have with your rental.

  • What are your rental requirements?
  • For first time renters we require a valid drivers' license, phone number and job location. Payment options are credit card or check. Should you not be able to make it up to the shop to complete the paperwork we can accomodate you electronically provided you have that capability.

  • How old do I have to be to rent?
  • You must be 18 years of age to rent our equipment

  • Can I reserve equipment in advance?
  • Yes. You can reserve your equipment only up to two days prior to your rental. First time customers must come in to complete the paperwork.

  • Do I have to return the equipment full of fuel?
  • We send it out full of fuel so we do ask that it is returned full to avoid fuel charges.

  • How long am I allowed to keep the equipment?
  • One day is 24 hrs., a week is 7 days and one month is 28 days. On metered equipment meter time is 8 hrs. a day, 40 hrs. a week and 160 hrs. a month. Select equipment is available at a 4 hr. rate. Any equipment rented at a half day rate after 1 p.m. must be returned by 5 p.m. closing time. Saturday half day rates apply to a 12 pm closing time.

  • What if my rental equipment has a mechanical issue?
  • We are on call 24 hrs. to address your needs. You have the option of a quick swap out here at our yard or we'll come to your location to service the equipment.

  • Do you have a weekend rate?
  • We do! Pick up your equipment Saturday 7 a.m. - 12 p.m. and return on Monday before 9 a.m. for your one day rent. Metered equipment rentals are still limited to 8 hrs. meter time to qualify for your one day rate. Note: Weekend rates do not apply to heavy equipment over 12,000 lbs. and trailer rentals.

  • Can I have my equipment delivered and picked up? What are the rates?
  • We can deliver your equipment to your home or job site. Delivery and pick up rates vary according to equipment size and distance. Just give us a call and we can quote your delivery and pick up. (Please read below)

  • If I request delivery and pickup, do I need to call for pick up?
  • Please. With delivered and picked up equipment we ask that you call when you are finished using the equipment, otherwise we assume that you are still using it. In some cases we have shown up on the job on the due date and the customer isn't ready for the equipment to be picked up.

  • What if I need more time with my rental?
  • No problem! Just give us a call and we'll help you with extending your rental for however long you need to keep it.

  • Do you rent trailers to transport my equipment?
  • Yes. We have trailers of various sizes, lengths and weight ratings to fit your rental or your own equipment. The requirements for trailer rental are that your vehicle is equipped with either a 2" or 2-5/16" tow ball (some of our trailers are equipped with 2" and some 2-5/16") and a 4 pin flat or 7 pin round light connector. You will also need your own tie down equipment as Hometown cannot loan tow balls, ball mounts, straps or chains but we do have these items available for purchase should you need them. Equipment will not be allowed to leave our yard without first being properly secured.

  • Are your quotes exactly what I'm going to pay for my rent?
  • Yes. We give you a "drive-out" quote so that you know exactly what you are going to pay for your equipment rental. Equipment returned late, over hours or not fully fueled can result in extra charges.
